Mission Sunday

Nest Sunday is World Day of Prayer for the Missions.  BY her very nature the Church has to be missionary – from the command of Jesus ‘Go out to the whole world and spread the Gospel@.

 

Next week-end the second collection at all Masses will be for the Missions.  If you intend to gift aide your donation then you must use the special envelopes which are available from back of the church.   The yellow envelopes in your parish gift aid set must not be used.

 

McMillan Cancer Support

Thanks to everyone who attended the recent lunch which raised £521.  A special word of thanks to those who made the soup.

 

Parish Pastoral Council

There will be a meeting in the chapel house on Monday 23 October at 7.00pm

 

Mass for the dead of the Parish

The annual Mass for deceased members of the parish will take place on the feast of All Souls, Thursday 2 November, at 7.00pm

 

Requiem Mass

The annual requiem Mass for all who are buried in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Dalbeth or whose final committal was in Daldowie Crematorium will be held on Sunday 5 November at 3.00pm.  In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be in St. Joseph’s , Tollcross.

For those who are buried in St. Kentigern’s, Western Necropolis or Lambhill Cemeteries or whose final committal was in Glasgow Crematorium, Mass will take place in St. Agnes’s Lambhill on the same day at 3.00pm

 

Memorial Mass

There will be a memorial Mass for Brother Walfrid, the Marist Brother and founder of Celtic FC, in St. Mary’s Abercrombie Street, on Monday 6 November at 7.00pm

 

The Priests Concert

The only Scottish date for ‘The Priests’ is Monday 13 November in Glasgow Royal Concert Hall.  Tickets from £30 are available fro the booking office or by telephone on  0141 353 8000 or online at http://tickets.glasgowconcerthalls.com/single/SYOS.aspx?p=11694

 

The Cardinal Winning Pro-life Initiative

The 5th Annual Ladies’ Lunch in honour of St. Margaret of Scotland will be held on Saturday 18 November at 1.00pm.  If you are interested in attending please sign up the form in the sacristy before Monday 16 October.

 

Helping Hands

Friday 27 October – Ladies’ Halloween Night 7.30pm – 11.30pm (Fancy dress optional).  BYOB. Tickets £5 or pay on door.

Friday 17 November – social evening for everyone with music by Harmony.  7.30pm – 11.30pm BYOB.  Tickets £5 or pay on door.

 

Celebration of the life of St. Pope John Paul II

An event takes place at St. Columba’s, Hopehill Road on Sunday 22 October from 3.30pm – 5.45pm.

 

Care and repair
